POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for management and oversight of the bank---s Compliance Management System, including ensuring that the program adheres to banking rules and regulations and meets company objectives and goals established by the board of directors and executive management. The Compliance Officer will be responsible for assessing and reporting risk and ensuring that risk areas are appropriately mitigated and are within established risk tolerances. This position is also responsible for managing the bank compliance program and CMS. This includes general consumer compliance requirements, regulatory compliance, and compliance training. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Manage the bank---s CMS program and ensure the bank is meeting its compliance requirements. 2. Perform staff and board compliance training. 3. Administer the bank---s online compliance training system. 4. Function as the management lead for the bank---s compliance committee. 5. Manage and enforce all compliance related policies and procedures. 6. Perform regular compliance reviews of disclosures, user agreements, account agreements, loan documentation. 7. Perform loan document review for commercial and consumer loans. 8. Function as a key member of the bank---s senior management team. SECONDARY DUTIES: 1. Participates in professional associations; attends industry-related conventions, conferences, conventions--- reads pertinent publications. 2. Develops relationships with other bank-related executives to enhance network and to increase awareness of new services/opportunities. 3. Cross train and coordinate with the compliance staff. 4. Performs other duties as may be assigned by Management and/or the Board. TEAM/COMMITTEE ASSIGNMENTS: -- ITSC, ALCO, Risk, Audit, Compliance, others as needed. ROLE QUALIFICATIONS: -- Specialized training information technology and data processing within the banking environment -- Continuous education through participation in banking association sponsored events Job Requirements: Experience ------------------ 10-15 years operations, compliance, audit, and risk management --experience within a financial institution environment -- Education ---- Bachelor---s degree in Business, IT, Finance, Accounting, or equivalent experience in a Compliance Management role -- Other Skills & Abilities ------------------ Thorough and extensive knowledge of compliance principles and risk management methodologies ------------------ Strong communication skills, both written and verbal ------------------ Ability to interact with customers and employees with tact, diplomacy and confidentiality ------------------ Resourceful, innovative and well organized ------------------ Ability to assess problems and/or unusual situations and develop logical solutions ------------------ Ability to create a collaborative and motivating team environment ------------------ Ability to develop and advance skills of staff ------------------ Strong ethical focus -- Performance Measures ------------------ Meets or exceeds annual goals as pre-established by the CEO that are aligned with the strategic plan ------------------ Meets or exceeds audit, risk assessment, and exam objectives ------------------ Compliance with regulatory requirements ------------------ Retains key team members, minimizing unwanted turnover -- WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed largely within the Bank, community, and at customer sites with limited chance for personal injury.-- Prolonged and frequent mental and visual concentration required.-- Periodic stressful situations in response to multiple priorities within established deadlines.-- Work hours are generally during normal business hours.-- Unscheduled evening and weekend work will be needed to meet the needs of customers and employees.-- Occasional out-of-town and overnight business travel is required.------ --GENERAL NOTICE: The statements contained in this job description describe the general nature and level of work being performed by the individual accepting this role.
