-The Cost Accountant I position is responsible for monitoring inventory transactions and cost variances. This requires managing activities that support accurate inventory including review of shop orders, items attributes, BOMs, and production entry. The cost accountant must also prepare periodic reports that are used by the operations and finance teams.
Essential Job Duties:

• 
  
• Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability
  
• Compare actual and standard costs to estimates; analyze variances
  
• Analyze purchase price and material usage variances
  
• Assist in maintaining cost in system and setting standard costs
  
• Provide support to Business Analysis, Operations, Distribution, Planning, Maintenance, and BOM teams as requested with project support and analysis
  
• Monitor inventory activity and resolve inventory errors or missed transactions
  
• Assist in budgeting and forecasting processes
  
• Prepare schedules and assist with physical inventory
  
• Investigate impacting processes, efficiencies and variances
  
• Prepare and distribute analytical reports to operations and finance teams
  
• Ability to collaborate with other departments
  
• Other tasks as determined by business needs
  
  Requirements:
  
  • 
    
  • Experience with an integrated ERP system and understanding of how each module interfaces with finance
    
  • Proficient Microsoft Excel user
    
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
    
  • Ability to work independently
    
  • Take analysis from data collection to conclusions to driving actions within the organization
    
  • Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage competing tasks
    
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
    
  • 
    Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance Preferred
    
    
  • 
    2+ years of related experience, preferably in a manufacturing company in cost, finance or general ledger accounting.
