Job Description: Satellite Services Inc. (SSI) is seeking a seasoned financial professional for the position of Director of Finance and Administration in support of its multi-site, multi-state operations. Reporting directly to the company President, this position is located at the corporate office in Marquette, MI. SSI's operations currently encompasses 16 locations and 250+ employees. This is a multi-faceted senior leadership position with direct responsibility and involvement in strategic planning and development, business administration, and accounting control functions, ensuring the profitable long-term growth of the business. Additionally, the successful incumbent will work with the leadership team to evolve systems, processes, and procedures and provide guidance related to financial/risk/compliance/banking/cash/tax impacts to the President and Owners of the Company. The role requires frequent, and effective cross-functional interaction with internal and external contacts. Interaction will frequently involve unique matters with a high degree of complexity. Interactions require tact and diplomacy, and a good knowledge of financial and administrative procedures. Interaction may also involve matters of a very sensitive nature. This position is in charge of the Corporate Office and Finance Department; as such the ability to Lead staff and make decisions independently is paramount. May perform other duties as assigned in support of multiple departments. Essential Job Functions: Corporate Tax, Finance and Audit --- Preparation of multi-state income and franchise tax returns o Prepare related shareholder state tax returns to minimize tax impact --- Review and filing of S-Corporation income tax return --- Research nexus and tax implications of potential new business o To include shareholder impact --- Review/Supervise Annual Financial audit --- Supervise set-up of payroll deductions, local taxes, etc. --- Review monthly financial statements --- Lead role with various type of audits to understand/investigate/resolve these situations to the best outcome for the Company Legal and Compliance Involved in legal compliance activities/ outsourcing support and contract compliance --- Liaison with corporate attorneys --- Review contracts/legal documents to mitigate any risk to company Banking --- Liaison with banker --- Signature Authority --- Responsible for Line of credit renewal --- Compliance with Loan Covenants and Reporting 401(k) Retirement Plan --- Knowledge of 401(k) compliance regulations --- Member of the 401K investment committee --- Submit annual compliance data/Review & approve test results and HCE refunds --- Submit Form 5500 data/review and approve return Insurance --- Knowledge of workers' compensation and other insurance --- Review and approval of ERISA plan documents --- Review and approval of Form 5500 All duties must be performed within the specified safety regulations of the company and the position. Physical Requirements: This position is generally sedentary in nature in that prolonged sitting, talking, and hearing are necessary. The job requires frequent use of the hands, fingers, arms, and reaching. There is frequent close vision and distance vision work also involving depth perceptions. The ability to lift up to 25 lbs. is required. The ability to communicate clearly both written and orally is necessary. The environment is a normal office environment, generally hazard free, but may involve some infrequent exposure to noise, dust and paper residue. Required Job Qualifications: BS in Accounting or Business Administration and 10 years' management experience or a combination of education and experience Security Clearance (or ability to obtain) Familiarity with accounting software Thorough working knowledge of tax law; federal and state Knowledge of statistics, analysis Strong attention to detail Excellent oral and written communication and problem-solving skills Exceptional organizational skills Knowledge of federal and state laws and regulationsAbility to operate a personal computer and associated software Ability to prepare and present accurate and reliable reports Ability to use logical and creative thinking to develop solutionsAbility to research and adapt to rapidly changing regulations and information Preferred Licenses or Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) Work Schedule: Full-Time (40 hours per week); occasional travel Satellite Services Inc. is an Affirmative Action/Equal Employment Opportunity employer.
