HOW YOU WILL DO IT
-- As our Regional Engineering Director, you will be primarily
responsible for coordinating strategic initiatives between the
sites and the corporate Test, Industrial, Process, Automation and
Product Engineering organizations. In this role, you will manage
the implementation and execution of engineering philosophies across
the region's manufacturing sites while working directly with the
Product and Process Engineering Managers to ensure proper resources
and skill levels are in place to support the voice of the customer
and the process. Key Job Accountabilities:
- Engineering Activity Coordination - Serve as primary escalation
point within the region for all engineering activities to ensure
that appropriate site, regional and corporate resources are
appropriately leveraged. Manage issues to achieve root cause
identification and regional deployment of systemic corrective
- Evaluation and Execution - Manage the site product and process
performance through the Engineering Managers using metrics and data
analysis in order to identify and deploy best practices and ensure
the best people with the technical organization.
- Site and Regional Support - Support formal Operations Reviews
and informal site assessments to aggressively identify trends and
continuous improvement opportunities. Ensure leverage of previous
work form inside and outside of Plexus and the solution become
standard work throughout the region.
- Strategy/Teamwork - Coordinate initiatives with global subject
matter experts (gSME's) and Site Engineering managers support
alignment of core engineering processes at the regional sites.
- Vision/Communication - Manage the regional capital forecasts
and asset allocation process to align with regional, corporate and

- Direct Site Engineering Managers, and customer representatives
to develop and support mutual Technology Roadmaps.--
- Lead efforts for data systems and ensure regional deployment,
implementation and unified approach and use.
- Lead initiatives with Global Process Owners (GPO) to ensure
alignment of core processes and product engineering at the
- Manage regional site Failure Analysis and Analytical Labs
strategy as well as Environmental, Health and Safety (EH&S)
- Manage region's strategic customers quote reviews and cost
- Support new business opportunities throughout the region.
- Support Plexus Enterprise solutions with existing, new and
prospective customers in a marketing/sales environment.
- Minimal travel may be required to meet the needs of the
business (estimated 25%). What we are looking for:
- A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering is required; a
Master's degree is preferred.
- Seven years of related experience is required.
- Detailed knowledge and experience with ISO 9000, AS9100,
TL9000, ISO 13485 and FDA GMP Quality Systems Requirements is
required and related certification is desirable.
- Demonstrated experience with Lean Sigma methods and deployment
is required and related certification is desirable.
- Must have experience in capturing, understanding, and reducing
Cost of Poor Quality.
- Must have experience in implementing methodology of Management
by Fact (MBF) as well as Hoshin Planning.-- This document does not
