Job Overview:
It is the responsibility of the Supplier Quality Engineer to coordinate the acquisition of design/process compatibility on already-produced components and goods. serving as a vital part of several functional teams that assess the competence of prospective and current suppliers. Directly under this role is the Quality Leader.

  • initiates and oversees technical evaluations of the parts delivered and the supplier's quality control system (QMS).
  • determines and suggests statistical process controls for the procedures used by the suitable suppliers.
  • SQE is in charge of keeping track of supplier quality/productivity issues.
  • Choosing the inspection/testing tools needed to judge a product's compliance to specifications.
  • oversees the individuals in charge of quality process control and audits as needed.
  • maintains engineering specifications-compliant quality documents during test and audit.
  • The new design introduction effort is supported by the supplier quality engineer.
  • Participant in the process review team, assisting Product Engineering with the introduction of manufactured and acquired components.
  • gives management team data on returns and warranties for analysis.


    • BS degree in Engineering, Quality or Manufacturing discipline desired.
    • Certification as an ASQ Quality Engineer preferred.


      • Background in QMS management in a certified ISO or IATF organization.
      • Functional knowledge of statistical concepts as applied to the field of Quality Assurance.
      • Experience in a project team environment is beneficial.
      • Experience in the quality management methods defined by the Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG).

        Skills and Abilities:

        • good computer proficiency with Microsoft applications.
        • Required are diplomacy, good communication abilities, and problem-solving capabilities.
        • reading blueprints and the capacity to interpret guidelines like ASTM.
        • expertise in assessing suppliers' quality management systems and capacity to support process improvements.

          • Programming Machine Vision Systems
          • Quality Control Data Analysis
          • Meets Physical Requirements
          • High School / GED
          • Excellent Communication Skills
          • Shop Math Skills
          • Experience in a Manufacturing Environment
          • Basic Computer Skills
