Technician will be responsible for performing field service and
repairs on industrial batteries, chargers, and related equipment.
The Motive Power Technician will also be responsible for equipment
installations and to perform unscheduled repairs and scheduled
maintenance, based upon customer demand and need. The technician
should approach each job responsibility in a manner that provides
complete customer satisfaction in a polite and professional manner.
This is a full-time position out of our Green Bay, Wisconsin Branch
servicing Appleton/ Fox Valley Area. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs necessary repairs on batteries and chargers to correct
analyzed situations in a professional and productive manner.
Troubleshoot motive power batteries, chargers, and related
equipment problems, complete installations, and perform unscheduled
repairs and scheduled maintenance on equipment-based customer
demands and needs. Observes, analyzes, and determines corrective
course of action for service and repair of customer equipment.
Perform scheduled maintenance on equipment for contracted customers
according to Company policies and procedures. Washes, cleans and
neutralizes customer’s batteries at customers’ site. Drive to job
site as assigned. May be required to work in shop environment as
needed. Maintain acceptable personal and work area standards for
safety, appearance, and equipment condition. Follows safety rules
and procedures to ensure that hazardous waste is disposed of
properly. Diagnose equipment problems and offer solutions to meet
customer specifications. Opens and closes work orders, provides
service repair narratives for customer and submits paperwork for
time worked and repairs complete in an accurate and timely manner.
Maintains part inventory and supplies in company owned/leased
vehicles. Performs scheduled maintenance on equipment for
contracted customers according to Company policies and procedures.
Exhibits a professional demeanor and promotes goodwill between the
company and customers by providing a superior level of customer
service. REQUIR ED SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Valid driver’s license.
Excellent driving record. Excellent written and verbal
communication skills are crucial for working with all individuals
in organization both internally and externally. Ability to obtain
and coordinate repair estimates. Ability to order and maintain
parts. Ability to safely operate drills, grinders, forklifts,
hoists, and personal hand tools. Ability to understand chemical
reaction between acids and alkalis. Knowledge of reading
schematics, maps, blueprints, and manuals. Ability to work
autonomously as well as work in a team environment. Strong time
management skills, attention to detail, and a focus on customer and
service schedule management. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School
Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required. 1 years of
mechanic experience and/or education relating to the position.
Experience in material handling environment is preferred, but not

The physical demands described here are representative of those

at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees. Crouching- bending the
body downward and forward by bending leg and spine. Reaching-
extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction. Standing- remaining
upright on the feet, particularly for sustained periods of time
Walking- moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for
long distances or moving from one work site to another. Pushing-
using upper extremities to press against something with steady
force in order to thrust forward, downward or outward. Pulling-
using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, drag, haul
or tug objects in a sustained motion. Lifting- raising objects from
a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally form
position-to-position. Grasping- applying pressure to an object with
fingers and palm. Talking- Expressing or exchanging ideas by means
of spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken
instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly,
or quickly. Hearing- Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal
speaking levels with or without correction and having the ability
to receive detailed information through oral communication.
Occasional physical activity of the position: Climbing- ascending
or descending. Balancing- maintaining body equilibrium. Fingering-
perceiving attributes of objects by touching with skin,
particularly that of fingertips. The visual acuity requirements:
The worker is required to have visual acuity to operate motor
vehicles or equipment. The worker is required to have close visual
acuity to perform an activity such as visual inspection involving
small defects and/pr small parts. The conditions the worker will be
submitted to in this position: The worker is subject to both
environmental conditions: Activities occur inside and outside. The
worker is subject to extreme cold: Temperatures typically below 32
degrees for period of more than one hour. Worker may also be
subject to other environmental conditions such as wind and
humidity. The worker is subject to extreme heat: Temperatures above
100 degrees for periods of more than one hour. Worker may also be
subject to other environmental conditions such as wind and
humidity. The worker is subject to noise: There is sufficient noise
to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient
noise level. The worker is subject to hazards: Includes a variety
of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical
parts, moving vehicle, electrical current, exposure to high heat
and exposure to chemicals. The worker is subject to atmospheric
conditions: one or more of the following conditions that affect the
respiratory system of the skin; fumes, orders, dusts, mists, gases,
or poor ventilation. The worker is occasionally required to
function in narrow aisles or passageways. The worker may be subject
to oils: there is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other
