We are looking for the best and brightest to fly and land with us!Collins Aerospace is looking for aNew Product Development Manager will be accountable for Technical Product Development within the Design Engineering organization. You will manage approximately 6-8 direct reports with approximately 30 sub-level (indirect) reports. Reporting up to the Site Engineering Manager, this position with be aligned/lateral to the Technology Manager, Operations Support & Post-Certification Manager, the Engineering Project Management Office Manager (PMO) and Operations Excellence Manager. Essential Responsibilities

  • Accountability and Management of Engineering Managers responsible for New Product Introduction within the Disciplines of Mechanical Design, Electrical Design, Software Development, Test Engineering, and Systems Engineering; including technical coordination with internal/external stakeholders
  • Accountability and Management of Team for program execution utilizing standard work for Integrated Master Schedules, Risk Management, Deliverables Mapping/Tracking, and coordination with internal/external stakeholders
  • Responsibility for adherence to site Project Portfolio Planning, Management decisions and standard work
  • Actively supports Engineering Capacity Planning (Resource Forecasting) for Contracted, Proposed, and Potential development projects
  • Actively Supports Interiors Budget Authorization Requests (IBARs) to fund development projects
  • Accountability for team performance utilizing Earned Value Management System, Requirements Management (customer, company, regulatory), associated scope management and deviation resolution
  • Accountability for Reliability, Maintainability & Safety (RM&S) assessment during System development
  • Accountability for driving the usage of the appropriate ACE (Achieving Competitive Excellence)/Lean Product Development tools to support cost-effective technical solutions with a focus on platform design, reuse, and knowledge-management.
  • Responsibility for upward/outward status reporting to IAPS/Collins/Customer platforms/parties
  • Ensure compliance to all Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S),
  • International Trade Compliance (ITC), Quality Management System (QMS) policies & procedures
  • MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Engineering leadership and direct report management experienceBasic Qualifications
    • Bachelor's degree in the appropriate discipline and 8 years of relevant experience or an Advanced degree in the appropriate discipline and 5 years of relevant experience. In the absence of a degree, 12 years of relevant experience is required.
