Job Description:

Value Added Distributors is looking for an experienced Corporate Quality Manager to oversee our quality assurance program. This position will work directly for all our divisions and locations. You will review and analyze current QA processes to identify inefficiencies and areas of improvement. You will work with other department heads to implement changes to increase efficiency while still maintaining high levels of quality. Your primary goal will be to ensure all our products and services meet customers specifications and safety guidelines. Our ideal candidate has at least five years of experience in quality assurance.

Essential Job Duties/Responsibilities of the Corporate Quality Manager:

  • Analyze current quality assessment techniques for inconsistencies and redundancy.
  • Champion current ISO 9000 certifications by working with all locations and conducting audits and keeping all information updated.
  • Collaborate with management and with line production staff to achieve most efficient and accurate quality assessments. Objectives include:
    • Achieve similarities from location (determine which location is the most efficient and share those processes by involvement with all locations).
    • Gain efficiencies through process improvements and tracking these gains.
    • Lead any changes or new line set ups or changes.
    • Work with area leads to equip them with the best knowledge and tools to succeed.
    • Direct objectives to maximize profitability.
    • Review capital investments per location by working with ownership in selecting equipment for enhancements.
    • Ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines as well as legal obligations and work with teams to provide proper ongoing training.
    • Organize the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment.
    • Organize relevant training sessions and needs.
    • Set requirements for raw material or intermediate products for suppliers and monitor their compliance.
    • Work with all staff to ensure agreement on in-house quality procedures, standards and specification and to determine critical objectives that must be audited
    • Assess customer requirements and ensure compliance; oversee or handle responsibilities related to customer technical reports and audits.
      • Ensure compliance with manufacturing processes among all locations.
      • Keep accurate documentation and perform statistical analysis.
      • Supervise all technicians and provide guidance and feedback.

        Qualifications and Personal Attributes of the Corporate Quality Manager:

        • 5+ years of experience in manufacturing and quality assurance.
        • Understanding of ISO 9000 implementation.
        • Experience with lean manufacturing principles (Six Sigma).
        • Ability to effectively communicate to top management, vendors, customers and other employees of the organization.
        • Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
        • Valid driver's license with insurable driving record.
        • Knowledge of flow and control plans and FMEA flow chart.
        • Ability to effectively communicate to top management, vendors, customers and other employees of the organization.
        • Solid judgment and decision-making skills.
        • Ability to multi-task.
        • Sense of urgency in fast paced environment.
        • Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks.
        • Detail-oriented.
          Essential Physical / Mental Requirements of the Corporate Quality Manager:

          • A majority of the time is spent working in an office environment with regular coordination of activities in a production facility.
          • Above average air and automobile travel required.
          • Lifting and/or carrying objects of 20-50 pounds.
          • Using a keyboard to enter, retrieve or transform words or data.
            This position will report directly to the General Manager and be part of our executive team.
