Position Scope: Lead the accounting team, inclusion of Accounts Receivable/Payable and Staff Accountant employees while providing the accounting, reporting and internal control needs for the business management team for NPS Nonwovens Consolidated.Purpose:* Develop and maintain accounting principles, practices and procedures to ensure accurate and timely financial statements and clean year end audit review.* Lead the Accounts Receivable/Payable function to ensure that NPS customer and vendor accounts are current.* Ensure corporate compliance with necessary state, federal and other filings, in partnership with our outside accounting firm.Key Responsibilities and Focus Areas:* The Accounting Manager position provides support to various functions within and outside finance for budgeting, planning/forecasting, reporting, and analysis in a variety of areas. * Ensure an accurate and timely monthly and year end close. Ensure the timely reporting of all monthly financial information. Prepare external report requests as necessary. * Direct the activities of the Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable employees to ensure that:* Receivables are accurate and always on-time* Credit Policy is properly adhered to* Vendors are paid only what they are owed (always taking discounts when offered) in a timely manner while ensuring that all purchases are properly authorized before the funds are committed.* Good communication exists between Accounts Receivable, Customer Service and Sales team* As needed, ensure the monthly/quarterly bank compliance activities are performed in a timely and accurate manner.* Lead annual audit with external auditors* Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure, including consistent monthly balance sheet reconciliations.* Support the cost analyst and inventory control analyst to ensure that physical inventories are taken accurately and according to the agreed to schedule * Develop and implement procedures to enhance the workflow of the department and to provide an adequate level of internal controls* Support budget and forecasting activities* Responds to inquiries from the NPS Management Teams and other functions regarding financial results, special reporting requests, etc. Professional Behavior:* Lead by example and support the company's team-based, customer focused, flexible, fast-to-action, entrepreneurial culture with a positive, can-do attitude. Report any non-compliance issues to the NPS Management team,* Ensure confidentiality of information is strictly maintained.Process & Systems Expertise: * Understands and facilitates the integration of business processes, people, and relevant technology, in order to identify, configure, and communicate useful information, and to provide practical business counsel to support business decision making across the enterprise.* Identifies processes within the department, which are non-value added and seeks solutions.* Effectively makes decisions on complex issues, giving consideration to relevant costs, benefits and risks.* Demonstrates the initiative to drive change and influence others in support of the organization's goals and objectives.* Ensures achievement of desired results by making appropriate recommendations.Education Level and/or Experience: * Related 4 yr. degree.* A minimum 10 years of financial analysis or equivalent experience.
