Job DescriptionSales Manager Roland Machinery Company is a family owed company that was established in 1958 and, is one of the Mid-West's leading heavy equipment dealers representing more than twenty-five outstanding manufacturers of construction, municipal, industrial and forestry equipment; expanding across 5 states and 17 locations. Roland is an Equal Opportunity Employer (EOE) in accordance with Title 44, IL Administrative Code, Subpart C, Section 750.150 Responsibilities & Duties: · Take an active role in managing & growing a dedicated sales territory that includes a large, pre-existing customer base · development of new accounts and existing accounts · Maintains up-to-date customer and prospect records and participate in development of sales forecasts. · Seeks new customers by continuously prospecting following Company's planned sales strategies and tactics. · Provide product solutions utilizing our 475-page catalog & over 20,000 items to various customers · Prospect & develop new leads / accounts through cold calling · Collaborate with customers to bring them unique ideas & solutions plus provide exceptional customer service & professionalism throughout the sales experience · Analyzes, develops and presents market research and advertising proposals to support client activities and products. · Interacts with various internal departments to carry out client requirements such as scheduling advertising; monitor account activities and monitor and manage collections. · reporting industry trends, competitive issues and distributor issues to the GM and other corporate departments · Completes required documentation and reporting for the proper processing of contracts, advertising schedules, sales calls, and expense reports. · Analyzes confidential information, prepares reports, manuals, agendas and general correspondence. · Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance. · Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as necessary. · for achieving a sales plan · Assists in developing marketing activities to generate local ad sales revenue. · develop and operate within an assigned budget · Directly manages a staff · Be a team player within the organization · Other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications & Skills: · 2+ years Outside Sales experience · Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving & presentation skills a MUST · Overnight travel is required - work remotely from home · Education Level: High School or Equivalent · Field of Study: Marketing · College education with a minimum of a four-year degree and 10 years experience in the Heavy/Construction Equipment industry. A minimum of 5 years of experience and a proven track record working in a Sales management capacity. Knowledge of industry specific performance indices such as market share, aftermarket absorption, parts and service retention · Good understanding of the major market segments including aggregate/mining, infrastructure, heavy highway, forestry, energy, residential, non-residential, and waste management · Good product and applications knowledge · Financial knowledge. Have awareness of P & L management in an equipment dealership environment · Computer skills.
