Willow Creek Behavioral Health is a new 72 bed psychiatric hospital. This state-of-the-art facility underscores our commitment to individuals and families seeking support and treatment with debilitating psychiatric concerns.Under the direction of the Medical Director, the Advanced Practice Nurse provides medical care and treatment to patients. Performs physical examinations to determine general physical condition within prescribed guidelines and instructions of physician. Orders, interprets and evaluates laboratory and diagnostic tests to identify and assess patient's clinical problems and health care needs. Determines nature and extent of mental disorder, discusses case with physician and other health professionals and formulates a comprehensive treatment program. Submits individualized treatment plan and goals of individual patients for periodic review and evaluation by physician. Prescribes or recommends drugs or other forms of treatment utilizing variety of psycho-therapeutic methods and medications. May refer patients to physician for consultation or to specialized health resources for treatment.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTION AND RESPONSIBILITIESNurse Practitioner ServicesObtain and maintain at all times during the term of employment, active medical staff membership, in good standing, at the Willow Creek Behavioral Health. Practitioner shall comply with all policies, rules, and regulations and Medical Staff Bylaws of Willow Creek. Practitioner shall furnish Hospital promptly upon request any and all documents evidencing Practitioner's credentials including, but not limited to, academic records, diplomas, licenses, registrations, professional malpractice and credentialing and certifications from original sources as required by Hospital and the Medical Staff Bylaws of Willow Creek.In performing services Practitioner will act in accordance with the standards of all: (1) quality initiative programs in which Willow Creek participates; (2) governmental and non-governmental third-party payors with which Willow Creek has a contractual relationship to obtain reimbursement for services rendered, including, but not limited to, Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, and applicable commercial third party payors (collectively, " Payors"); (3) applicable federal, state, and local governmental laws, rules, and regulations (" Applicable Laws"); and (4) accrediting agencies of Hospital such as The Joint Commission.Practitioner is, and for the term of employment will remain, eligible to participate in the Federal Healthcare Programs, and Practitioner has not been, and during the term of employment will not be, sanctioned by the Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General as set forth on the Cumulative Sanctions Report, or excluded by the General Services Administration as set forth on the List of Excluded Providers [see https://oig.Hhs.Gov/exclusions/].Practitioner shall: (1) comply with all continuing medical education requirements imposed by Wisconsin law; (2) remain licensed without restriction under applicable state and federal laws to dispense all controlled substances, narcotics, and other drugs as may be necessary to provide services hereunder including the maintenance of a current and unrestricted certification from the Drug Enforcement Administration (" DEA"); (3)remain fully licensed to practice medicine and without any restriction in good standing with the WI Medical Board and all federal, state, and local agencies related to the services to be provided pursuant to employment; and (4) remain a provider in good standing with all applicable Payors.Practitioner shall timely and accurately prepare all records, charts, reports, forms, and Payor billing records for the services provided by Practitioner hereunder in conformance with applicable standards of professional practice or as may reasonably be required by Willow Creek. All such records shall be and remain the property of Willow Creek to be maintained and kept by Practitioner on a confidential basis and in accordance with Willow Creek's privacy and security policies. All fees from billings generated by Practitioner within the scope of Practitioner's employment shall be the sole and exclusive income of Willow Creek, and Practitioner expressly and irrevocably transfers, assigns or otherwise conveys to Willow Creek all right, title and interest of the Practitioner in and to any fees resulting from or incident to the Practitioner's practice of medicine as an employee.Practitioner shall, for patients of Willow Creek, participate in and accept assignment from Payors designated by Willow Creek and provide treatment to all patients regardless of the type of insurance or indemnity programs, if any, of such patients, including, without limitation, any patients covered by health maintenance organizations or other types of alternative delivery systems.Practitioner will participate, in all respects, in the quality assurance and utilization review programs of Willow Creek and/or the Hospital medical staff as well as the development and implementation of best practice guidelines. Practitioner shall participate in the implementation of customer service programs designed to support Willow Creek's mission, goals and objectives.Willow Creek shall provide at its expense professional malpractice insurance to cover Practitioner's practice within the scope of Practitioner's employment by Willow Creek. Should Practitioner be permitted to perform professional services outside the scope of Practitioner's employment by Willow Creek, Practitioner shall be solely responsible for assuring that Practitioner has malpractice coverage in the minimum amounts of one million dollars per occurrence and three million dollars in aggregate. In such event, Practitioner shall provide evidence of such insurance upon request by Willow Creek. Practitioner may obtain malpractice policy limits in excess of those provided by Willow Creek. In this event, Practitioner will be responsible for the payment of all premiums for any and all excess coverage limits. Should Practitioner cease to be employed by Willow Creek, for whatever reason, Practitioner and Willow Creek will cooperate to assure that malpractice insurance extended reporting (and/or tail coverage) or other appropriate policies of continued malpractice insurance coverage is purchased for the benefit of both Practitioner and Willow Creek with respect to the services provided by Practitioner during employment at Willow Creek.Medical Records and Confidential CommunicationAppropriately considers the sensitivity and confidentiality of medical/psychiatric information along with the need-to-know before sharing information with others.Medical records entries are legible, errors minimized, timely completed and include signature with professional designation. Users of computer aided records should not share passwords and sign off to reduce unauthorized utilization.Medical records of deficiencies are minimized, and when identified, corrected as soon as practical.Customer ServiceIn-person and telephone communication is consistently attentive, responsive and reflects "helpfulness".Professional awareness and boundaries are observed. Unnecessary self-disclosure is minimized.Telephones are answered by the third ring whenever possible and a professional greeting. Candidate must have current and valid national certification as an APRN. Candidate must have a current, valid, unencumbered license to practice by the Wisconsin State Board of Nursing as a Registered Nurse and additionally as an Advanced Practice Nurse.A minimum of three-(3) years' experience, including management/supervision experience in an acute behavioral health-care facility is required.Skills1) Comprehensive understanding of the approved scope of nursing practice for advanced practice, registered nurses, licensed vocational nurses, nursing assistants and non-licensed nursing personnel; 2) Application of nursing standards and practice within an acute psychiatric setting; 3) Ability to apply cultural sensitivity and age specific competency to nursing practice; 4) Effective respond and actively participate in a psychiatric crisis to resolution; 5) Prepares documentation that reflects an advanced practice nursing perspective and 6) Coordinate care within a multidisciplinary team framework.Additional RequirementsTimely renew and maintain an active registered nursing and advanced practice nursing license, first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation for healthcare professional's certification, professional skills verification and "Handle with Care" (psychiatric crisis management) certification. Thorough knowledge of JCAHO, CMS, OSHA, and state and federal regulatory requirements.
