Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details - Location: Wausau, WI 54401 (Central Wisconsin) - Job Title: Travel Cardiac Stepdown Registered Nurse (RN) - Healthcare Setting: Med Surg Intermediate Care / Cardiac Stepdown Unit - Contract Length: 13 weeks - Start Date: September 29, 2025 - End Date: December 29, 2025 - Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week - Shift: 12-hour variable shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) - Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend and every other holiday - Unit Size: 36 beds - Patient Ratio: 4:1 - Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1,990 - $2,130 Registered Nurse Qualifications - Active Wisconsin RN License (required for travel nursing jobs in Wisconsin) - BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association preferred) - Associate Degree or Certificate in Nursing required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred - Minimum 2 years of recent Cardiac Stepdown, Intermediate Care, or Progressive Care Unit (PCU) experience - ICU and Trauma Level II experience preferred - Ventilator and tracheostomy care experience required - At least 1 prior travel nursing assignment (required) - EPIC electronic health record (EHR) charting experience preferred Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities - Provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced Cardiac Stepdown/Intermediate Care unit - Manage patients with ventilators, tracheostomies, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleed, chest tubes, traumatic brain injury (TBI), orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke - Monitor and administer insulin drips and other critical care medications - Float to other inpatient units as needed, including higher acuity units - Demonstrate resilience, adaptability, and the ability to work independently as a travel nurse - Maintain accurate documentation using EPIC EHR (preferred) - Participate in weekend and holiday rotations as part of the nursing team Take the next step in your nursing career with this rewarding travel Cardiac Stepdown RN job in Wausau, Wisconsin.
