ADEX Healthcare Staffing LLC is seeking a travel nurse RN PCU - Progressive Care Unit for a travel nursing job in Wausau, Wisconsin. Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 03/23/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - IMC Job Details: • Work 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM • 36 guaranteed hours per week over 13-week contract • Contract ends on Sunday, not Saturday • Every other weekend and every other holiday required • Float to all inpatient units as needed, typically to higher acuity units • Subject to low census and on-call requirements with 2-hour minimum call back • 4:1 patient ratio on 36-bed Medical Surgical Intermediate Care unit • Manage patients with heavy telemetry monitoring, stable weaning vents/trach, sepsis, trauma, alcohol detox, GI bleeds, colostomy/ileostomy, chest tubes, TBI, orthopedic trauma, spinal cord injury, and stroke • Handle primary patients and insulin drips • Must work independently in fast-paced environment • Any color scrubs permitted • 2 years stepdown/intermediate/PCU experience required • ICU experience preferred, Trauma Level II preferred • Ventilator/trach experience required • At least 1 prior travel experience required • Must be outside 50-mile radius of facility • Required certifications: Wisconsin RN License, BLS, and ACLS • EPIC charting experience preferred • Associate degree or certificate required, bachelor's degree preferred • Clinical interview required Facility: This healthcare facility operates a comprehensive 36-bed Medical Surgical Intermediate Care unit that specializes in high-acuity patient care.
