JOB OVERVIEW Profession: Physician Specialty: Gastroenterology Job Type: Locum Tenens Location: Wisconsin Rapids, WI Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient Coverage Type: Clinical Only Coverage Period: ASAP Ongoing Shift Schedule: 8:00 AM 5:00 PM 1 week on/1 week off 1 day clinic, 4 days procedures Reason for Coverage: Supplemental Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered by Agency PATIENT INFORMATION Average Daily Volume: 28-30 (IP), 3-4 (ICU/IMCU), 10-14 procedures/day Admissions: Yes Rounding: Yes FACILITY INFORMATION EMR System: Epic Specialty Backup Available: Anesthesia available for conscious sedation on certain days Support Staff: RNs: 1, MAs: 1, PA/NPs: 1, Office Staff: 1 Required to suppervise APPs? Yes No. of Beds: 3 Endo Suites, 6 ICU, 8 IMCU PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE Hospital Privileges Required: Yes JOB REQUIREMENTS Board: Board Certified Licenses: WI license or IMLC Certifications: BLS, ACLS Fellowship: Required Duties & Responsibilities Provide gastroenterology clinic and scheduled procedure coverage in an inpatient/outpatient setting Perform upper and lower GI endoscopies, colonoscopies with biopsy and polypectomy, sigmoidoscopies, and esophageal dilatation/manometry Manage inpatient consults for a census averaging 28-30 patients plus 3-4 ICU/IMCU patients Collaborate with a skilled endoscopy team in three new endo suites, with anesthesia available for conscious sedation on select days Participate in a week-on/week-off rotation; no ERCP or EUS required (not performed at facility)
