The HR Business Partner will collaborate with the Human Resources team to deliver outstanding service and will support Homes for Independent Living, a MyPath Company. The HRBP supports the day-to-day HR operations including employment verifications, onboarding, employee relations, policy administration, employment status changes and unemployment claims. This position will aid in ensuring compliance with applicable employment laws through the administration of streamlined consistent processes. This position has work from home flexibility within Sheboygan, Appleton, Oshkosh and Green Bay WI with the ability to travel onsite within northern Wisconsin when needed.
This position reports to the Human Resources Director, who, in turn, reports to the CHRO.
Responsibilities:

  • Provides advice and guidance on the interpretation of human resources policies.
  • Proactively identifies issues and initiates resolutions in line with policies, knowing when to engage HR leadership on more complex issues.
  • Participates in the employee onboarding process and conducts frequent check-ins with new hires.
  • Monitors employment status changes and terminations in the HRIS in partnership with Payroll within established payroll timelines. Follows through on PTO and benefit changes resulting from status changes.
  • Supports corporate HR with unemployment claims by gathering information to respond to/contest claims.
  • Answers employee questions regarding leaves of absence and communicates with leaders of employees on leave.
  • Maintains employee driver eligibility program for applicable companies; follows established practices; maintains logical and orderly process; takes appropriate action when driver eligibility changes.
  • Administers post-accident/reasonable suspicion drug screen program in accordance with established process and timelines; monitors results taking appropriate action when results indicate a violation of drug free policy. Establishes and maintains effective partnership with occupational health vendor to facilitate streamlined process; reconciles billing.
  • Refine and maintain process for conducting exit interviews, including tools for documentation and feedback to leadership.
  • Establishes and maintains system for employee files, department forms and terminated records; and HR record retention.
  • All other duties as assigned.Qualifications:
    • Requires Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources related field or equivalent experience.
    • 3-5 years previous HR experience preferred.
    • SHRM-CP preferred.
    • Possesses a vehicle Operator's License valid in Wisconsin; maintains an acceptable driving record per insurance carrier guidelines. Ability to travel to specific locations as needed.
    • Demonstrates an ability to exercise good judgment, make quick decisions and effectively solve problems.
    • Remains calm under pressure and maintains self-composure/self-control in times of high stress.
