Supports both voice and data availability throughout the ABC footprint. Provide operations support in the form of system/application monitoring, problem escalation, Level 1/2 problem resolution, off-shift Service Desk support, execution of backups, basic system administration, execution of jobs and incident management that will meet system availability standards, service level/security commitments, and meet overall business requirements. Demonstrate initiative for suggesting and implementing process improvements. JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES Will ensure the accuracy and completeness of all assigned operational procedures. This also includes monitoring of the production Backups, infrastructure, application performance, data/voice availability, ATM availability, security alerting, and storage (SAN) health. Generates and maintains customer profile information within the file transfer system. Under direction from the IT Operations Manager will maintain an up to date daily job schedule for all IBMi on Power Systems, Windows operations, UNIX, and Data warehouse/DataMart at Associated Bank Service Center. Ensure the SMT area is not only properly utilizing all monitoring tools, but setting and enhancing process and procedures associated with monitoring our production and non-production environments. Those environments include application, hardware, software, networking, voice, and environmental. Provide the SMT colleagues with leadership, coaching, motivation, and mentoring for development purposes. Coordinate SMT Console activities with ABC departments and ITS Level 2/3 staff. Research, recommend and implement Innovation, and where possible automate approaches for SMT processes/procedures (thus improving monitoring and operational SMT efficiencies). Negotiate with support teams to come up with solutions that meets the efficiency expectations of the organization. Coordinate computer operational activities with departments/Level 3 staff and resolve any issues that may occur. Coordinate problem resolution among required IT resources exercising strong teamwork, attitude, and skills. Assess the specifics of a problem and find a resolution as a Level 2 support colleague . Follow our standard Problem/Incident management procedures during critical priority incidents . Generate incident tickets when issues arise. Track all incident calls/tickets to ensure timely repair of the issue. Follow up with customer on each and every incident to ensure issue is resolved to their satisfaction. Research, recommend and implement technical and procedural innovation, and where possible automate approaches for SMT processes/procedures (thus providing monitoring and operations SMT efficiencies). Develop a close relationship with the ITS Technical Service Desk to manage incident and problem resolution. Continually monitor the ABC IT Environment to tier II, conditions outside of normal parameters. Continually monitor datacenter environment and is knowledgeable in the operational requirements of all power backup, air conditioning, and other support systems and equipment. Work assigned hours along with covering additional hours due to staffing requirements. Ability to quickly learn and master software and business application skills. Performs all ITS Technical Service Desk functions when necessary (either during the time the Technical Service Desk is not staffed or when assisting the SD in high call volume situations). What it takes to be an Associated Computer Operator EDUCATION Associate's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Computer Information Systems or business related discipline required. Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience Computer Information Systems or business related discipline preferred. EXPERIENCE 3-5 years experience in Information Technology, experience in operating IBMi on Power Systems computer systems required. 5-7 years in Information Technology, successful training in IBMi on Power Systems and work experience in a datacenter preferred. LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS IBM Certification (Technical Diploma or Associates Degree or IBM Certification or equivalent experience in information systems.). Common industry certifications such as A, Network, ITIL within 1 year required. SKILLS Verbal & Written Communication Attention to detail Mathematical Operate Office Equipment Microsoft Office Computer Systems Level 2 understanding and knowledge of many of the following technologies: - Microsoft Active Directory - Microsoft Products such as SCCM, SQL, Exchange, SCOM, Windows 2003/2008 operating systems, Cluster services. - Hardware devices such as servers, desktops, LCD's, printers, laptops. - Information Security best practices - Storage Area Networks (SAN), Direct Attached Storage (DAS), Network Attached Storage (NAS). - Virtualization technologies (ESX VMWare, Microsoft Typer-V, App-V). Other Duties and Responsibilities Performs other duties as assigned. Job Requirements Ability to interpret policies & procedures in accordance with standard banking practices; Analyze, interpret and communicate complex issues and recommendations; Adhere to Company policy and procedures; Perform duties in accordance with the Vision & Values of Associated Banc-Corp; Regular attendance; Basic math and reading skills, and attention to detail; Use of basic office equipment (e.g., photocopier, voice mail, "fax" machine, calculator, multiple line telephones, typewriter, computers etc.); Represent the organization in a professional and positive manner both internally and externally.
