Job Description:
Position Overview The Quality Manager is responsible for
developing, implementing, and maintaining the organization’s
quality management systems to ensure compliance with industry
standards, regulatory requirements, and customer expectations. This
role oversees quality assurance processes, conducts audits, and
drives continuous improvement initiatives across operations. The
Quality Manager collaborates with cross-functional teams to
identify root causes of quality issues, implement corrective
actions, and promote a culture of quality throughout the
organization. Key responsibilities include managing quality
documentation, training staff on quality standards, and ensuring
products and services meet established specifications.
Responsibilities Drive continuous improvement projects and
initiatives throughout the facility to enhance product quality and
customer satisfaction Serve as the quality liaison between the
division, Corporate, other GBP divisions and customers Investigate
customer complaints and provide timely responses back to customers,
including corrective action Develop, implement, and maintain
quality management systems in accordance with regulatory and
company standards Continuously monitor the quality systems for
overall effectiveness Coordinate regular quality audits to ensure
compliance with internal procedures and external regulations
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to proactively identify
areas for improvement in manufacturing processes and product
quality Manage documentation related to quality assurance
activities, including reports on nonconformances and corrective
actions Provide training and support to employees on quality
systems, procedures, and best practices, including new employee
training Lead projects aimed at enhancing overall product quality
through analysis of data trends and root cause investigations
Ensure there is effective communication and positive relationships
between customers utilizing the various positions within the
organization Develop, implement, and maintain SOPs and work
instructions for quality processes and procedures Partner with the
Technical Manager to drive root cause analysis and
corrective/preventive actions for nonconformances Oversee product
quality on trials, including activities such as preparation,
collecting samples, SOP development, sample testing, data
acquisition, and reporting Ensure that the rework jobs and product
holds are completed and resolved in a timely manner Facilitate
communication between shifts and throughout the division to promote
consistency, collaboration, and the sharing of best practices
relating to quality Ensures the divisional quality program is
compliant with regulatory, customer and corporate requirements
Monitor quality-related data trends and partner with operations in
troubleshooting and investigating to identify root causes and
appropriate corrections and corrective actions Maintain product
hold and corrective action logs Manages the effectiveness of the
customer complaint program Participate in internal, external 3 rd
party and customer audits. Assist with supplier audits and vendor
reviews Serve as a member of the divisional HACCP team
Qualifications A minimum of five years of job-related experience
with progressive responsibilities in quality, food safety, auditing
or related discipline. Experience in a manufacturing environment is
preferred Proficient knowledge of regulatory compliance including
HACCP, BRCGS and related quality standards Experience in conducting
quality audits within a manufacturing setting Excellent analytical
skills for data interpretation and problem-solving Must have strong
communication skills for effective collaboration across departments
and with external customers Strong attention to detail and the
ability to work accurately and efficiently Strong leadership,
communication, and problem-solving skills Experience working in and
applying LEAN Six Sigma concepts and participating in Kaizan events
Skills & Abilities Education: Bachelor’s degree in Quality
Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Business
Administration, or similar/related program required Experience: In
lieu of education demonstrated related experience in a
manufacturing setting may be considered. Experience working in the
paper or corrugated industry preferred Computer Skills: Experience
with MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Power BI and other
Windows based programs. Certificates and Licenses: HACCP, CQE, CQA
(not required but beneficial). LEAN Six Sigma certification is a
