Performs confidential secretarial duties and support for the
Facilitates communications among caregivers, patients and
visitors to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of
Completes and maintains the American College of Surgeons
Commission on Cancer (ACoS CoC) and the National Accreditation
Program for Breast Centers (NAPBC) Survey Application Record (SAR)
annually and as needed throughout the year utilizing data provided
by the Director of Oncology Service.
Coordinates educational events as directed by Program Director.
Obtains CME and/or ASRT credits, assists Program Director in
application process, obtains necessary documents and creates
certificates/forms as necessary.
Performs all clerical/computer functions to support patient care
Coordinates daily flow activities.
Stocks unit with office and medical supplies and prepares
requisitions to maintain inventory levels.
Answers the telephone in a professional manner and directs calls
or takes messages.
Faxes and photocopies information as requested by staff.
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Associates degree preferred
- Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required
- Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the
ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a
stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Minimum Work Experience
- 2 years as secretary in healthcare setting preferred
