If you think you have what it takes to help our team succeed then apply today!SummaryThe Technical Writer develops, writes, and edits material for reports, manuals, briefs, proposals, instruction books, catalogs, communications, and related technical and administrative publications in print or electronic media by performing the following duties.Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Work with Human Resources and department leaders to determine operating procedure and detail needs.Plan, develop, organize, write and edit operational procedures and manuals.Writes and edits technical documents including reference manuals and product manuals.Writes and edits procedural documentation such as user guides and manuals.Determines the type of publication that will best serve the project requirements.Meets with department managers, subject matter expert and program managers to learn about specific products and/or processes.Researches company policies, procedures and business models to fully understand business needs.Assesses the audience needs for whom the technical and procedural documentation is intended; adjusts tone and technical terms used to meet those needs and to ensure understanding.Plans writing processes and sets timelines and deadlines.Creates or works with graphic designers to create diagrams, charts, and other visual aids to assist readers in understanding a product or process.Gathers feedback from company stakeholders to improve technical documents.Performs other related duties as assigned.Assists Human Resource department with administrative needs. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write speeches and articles for publication that conform to prescribed style and format.Mathematical SkillsAbility to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra to practical situations.Reasoning AbilityAbility to break complex processes down into teachable paths in written format for a wide audience. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in oral, written, mathematical, schedule or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
