Good Samaritan Society Scandia Village is committed to creating a home for our residents that is much like their own a welcoming and loving place. Our range of exceptional care and service options for seniors and others in need in our community includes senior apartments, assisted living apartments and outpatient therapy.

Shifts are usually 11:00pm to 8:00pm every other weekend with the ability to pick up additional shifts

Job Summary

If you re hungry for a great career, we re seeking a friendly, team-oriented and customer service driven Cook to assemble, prepare, season, and portion food for individuals within our facility. With our Cook position we offer flexible schedules, predictable hours, training, advancement opportunities, and benefits that are typically better than other restaurant-related jobs. With the variety of dietary needs our patients and residents have, employees that thrive as a Cook are great communicators, keep a sanitary culinary work environment, and are proficient with their reading and writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and provides the highest quality and safest food possible
  • Follows standardized recipes and guidelines for cooks to prepare, store and use food
  • Maintains labeling and storage of food, equipment, and machinery
  • Performs washing and cleaning duties to insure sanitation
  • Operates equipment such as mixers, slicers, kettles, ovens, food grinders, and more
    Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

    Possesses ability to read, write and follow oral and written directions. Ability to perform basic math.

    On-the-job training will be provided.
