Job DescriptionJob Title: Continuous Improvement Specialist
Reports to: Plant ManagerPosition Details: Monday-Friday, Normal
Business Hours, Salary, ExemptJob Summary The Continuous
Improvement (CI) Specialist has oversight of the quality and
process improvement programs. The CI Specialist will assess,
monitor, and enhance manufacturing activity to promote customer
satisfaction and company performance. The CI Specliast will support
the manufacturing teams in a manner consistent with company policy
and federal and state regulations to achieve overall corporate
business objectives.Supervisory ResponsibilitiesN/AEssential
Duties• Meet or exceed established safety standards through
personal example and a safety-first mindset• Establish clear safety
expectations with CI Team activity, and ensure a safety mindset is
incorporated into all quality and continuous improvement programs
using appropriate safety and ergonomic processes• Develop technical
understanding of self-manufactured products and associated customer
use and expectations• Develop quality programs consistent with
customer requirements and provide direct training for production
team members to ensure understanding and compliance• Utilize ERP
software to monitor customer responses, develop professional and
timely corrective action as necessary, and develop meaningful
internal customer quality metrics• Routinely audit existing quality
programs and manufacturing standard operating practices (SOP)• Take
hands-on approach in utilizing continuous improvement techniques to
implement improvements that reduce waste and improve quality and
production efficiencies• Train and coach manufacturing team members
to generate and implement best practices using hands-on training,
virtual training, and other techniques as needed• Mentor Quality
Technicians at various locations to ensure consistent programs and
compliance with manufacturing best practices• Establish and
maintain effective operator on-the-job training programs for
production staff• Establish metrics to capture plant waste and
other, appropriate measures to monitor financial impact of quality
and CI programs and solutions• Support change initiatives that
incorporate technology solutions through automation, Internet of
Things, artificial intelligence, ERP integration, etc.Required
Skills and Abilities• Excellent reporting and written and oral
communication skills• Strong interpersonal skills with an awareness
of culture• Ability to develop high-performance, collaborative
teams across multiple locations• Technical aptitude and
problem-solving skills• Ability to facilitate multiple team
projects to achieve various plant initiatives related to quality
and continuous improvement with demonstrated emphasis on Kaizen
toolsEducation and Experience• Clean driving record• Microsoft
Excel, Word, Power Point, Outlook, and ERP systems experience•
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management or similar preferred•
5 years of manufacturing experience with progressive
responsibility, and exposure to manufacturing engineering, quality
programs, and operational best practices preferred. Physical
Requirements • Frequent sitting, standing, and walking• Occasional
lifting, carrying, stooping, and bending• Rarely crouching and
crawling• Be able to handle, grasp, and perform repetitive motions•
Requires the ability to see, hear, touch, and smell• The ability to
