QUALIFICATIONS
Experience in Electro-Mechanical Technology or STATEMENT OF JOB
Conducts the production activities of manufacturing organizations to optimize resource use, minimize costs and maintain quality standards. Activities include forecasting resource inputs; monitoring and maintaining production equipment. Designs and plans layout for assembly and materials handling. Adapts machine or equipment design to factory and production conditions. Plans sequence of operations and specification procedures for the fabrication of tools and equipment and other functions that affect product performance. Develops manufacturing processes that are applicable to statistical process control and may develop those techniques. Provides guidance for engineering regarding design concepts and specification requirements to best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques. Routinely assist in new machine design, implementation, and integration. Provide support to manufacturing processes to help maintain and sustain production requirements.

Automation Engineering Technology is required. Sound familiarity with PLC's, robotics, vision systems, HMI's, drives, controllers, etc. as well as with the software associated with PLC's, HMI's, vision, safety controllers, CAD, Microsoft Office, SAP etc.

Entry level qualification testing will be required. Besides paper and interview assessments for skill there will be equipment and PLC troubleshooting exercises to assess skills.

DUTIES

Monitors performance of basic machinery, equipment, processes, and tools to verify their efficiency, and investigates and initiates corrective action of problems and deficiencies to ensure KPIs are met. Designs and implements basic lean manufacturing process improvements to ensure KPIs are met. Reviews simple engineering changes (NPI and sustaining) and takes appropriate measures to ensure all product documentation for the affected operations (methods, test procedures, etc.) are updated to support the change. Develops basic procedures, production layouts and tooling to insure KPIs are met. Develops and implements new basic equipment and processes. Conducts studies and implements improvements pertaining to safety, cost control, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems. Scheduling, onboarding, and the supervision of on-site contractor work. Submit purchase requisitions to procure production critical hardware, software, services, and tooling. Work with trades, operators, assemblers, contractors, and supervision to schedule maintenance on production critical machinery while minimizing downtime. Supporting the training and development of peers within the organization.

  • Must have Lock-out tags after 6 months
  • Attend and participate in all hazardous and non-hazardous waste trainings.
  • Ability to recognize chemical hazardous labels.
  • Spill management and clean-up.
  • Air shutoff locations.
  • Capability to follow satellite accumulation rules and requirements.
  • Proficiency to recognize hazardous wastes in your area and manage properly.
