POSITION SUMMARY
This position is responsible to assist and support the Senior Manager of Yard Scheduling in the managing and update of the workstation plan of the shipyard and their integration with future program.
The position is responsible for the maintenance of the tool used to manage and verify the workstation plan of the shipyard (ProModel) not only in term of space availability but also in term of workload.
This position will elaborate the workstation plan of the shipyard with the incorporation of all information coming from the detail schedules highlight conflict or problematic and proposing corrective action (in collaboration with the other department) to mitigate them. He/she will collaborate with the Method department to set up and verify the logic (sequence) for production that are in the system, and will develop study of feasibility and run simulation on the future projects.
The workstation Scheduling Supervisor will keep the tool updated weekly with the actual coming from the actual ERP system and elaborate KPI showing the progress and variance from the plan by ship.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Support the implementation of new tools for analysis of workstation plan of the shipyard (ProModel)
  • Keep data bank updated and maintain the schedule's logics consistent
  • Develop and standardize the logics used for scheduling the activities in ProModel and assure their consistency and the respect of the overall targets of the programs
  • Support the Senior Manager of Yard Scheduling in the analysis and evaluation of workstation plan with special focus on resolving the overlapping between different programs ongoing in the yard and their integration with future business.
  • Support the Senior Manager of Yard Scheduling in the definition and manage of the critical path and schedule conflict, approving contents and filtering and reporting problems
  • Support the Functional Directors in the analysis of the sequences and trade-off between the schedules and in the simulation of the feasibility and impact of the new business for proposal purpose.
  • Discuss schedules and performance and preparation of KPI to support the analysis
  • Implement scheduling and resource planning standards
  • Collaborate with Method in the implementation and update of the technical data included in ProModel
  • Interface with others at MMC and customers
  • Must abide by and enforce all organizational policies and procedures.

    Directly supervises 5 to 10 employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the Company's policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.     SKILLS

    • Detailed and in-depth knowledge of resource loaded network scheduling/CPM methods.
    • Detailed and in-depth knowledge of integrated master planning using network scheduling tools.
    • Knowledge of Primavera P6 Scheduling software.
    • Working knowledge of reading and interpreting production drawings and product models.
    • Working knowledge of database and ERP systems.
    • Working knowledge of all common office applications including spreadsheet analysis and graphing.
    • Ability to work with all personalities.
    • Ability to work with people at all levels of the company.

        QUALIFICATIONS
        To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.         EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
        • Bachelor's degree in related field and at least five (5) years of related experience, an Associate's degree and at least seven (7) years of related experience, or a High School diploma and at least nine (9) years of related experience.
        • At least three years of supervisory experience is required or at least six years of progressive responsibility with a Planning department.
        • Substantial experience in a complex multi-product, build-to-order production environment creating project and master schedules and resource plans
        • Substantial working knowledge of ERP systems and network scheduling software (Primavera) and substantial working knowledge of EVM.
        • Effective verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills and the ability and willingness to work in both an office and an industrial environment are required.
        • Knowledge of shipbuilding workflow, material flow, and production processes and knowledge of Navy and Coast Guard scheduling and performance reporting requirements are preferred.
