Description

Primary Objective: Supports production operations by assembling electronic components, subassemblies, products or systems while meeting or exceeding standards for quality, productivity and safety. This position typically works under minimal to moderate supervision.

Key Job Duties:

• Able to perform all job duties of the Mechanical Assembler Apprentice.
• Reads customer specification drawings.
• Reads CAD drawings and can assemble using CAD software.
• Uses testing and measuring equipment such as calipers and angle finders.
• Sets up machines and determines if parts match specs, identifies and locates missing parts.
• Recognizes the proper alignment and tolerance of all parts.
• Sketches parts and updates prints as necessary.
• Assists in other areas and performs additional tasks as needed.
  
  Requirements
  
  Education/Training: High School Diploma or GED required
  
  Technical Degree in Machine Tool Technology or related field preferred
  
  Knowledge/Skills: Knowledge of pneumatics; basic understanding of setting up flow control valves and cushions
  
  Ability to plumb cylinders and valves
  
  Knowledge of lean manufacturing and/or continuous improvement processes preferred
  
  Experience and/or Other Requirements:
  
  1-2 years experience in a related position preferred
  
  Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  
  Must be able to stand for long periods of time
  
  Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
