Evaluates image quality and utilizes proper radiation safety practices.Job Description:Schedule: 10p to 6am Sunday thru Thursday or multiple night shift scheduling options availableWeekend/Holiday rotation with 7 technologistsIf hired for a weekend position, the weekend shifts are eligible for a weekend bonus programLearn about Thedacare Shawano:Critical access hospital trauma and stroke readinessFull imaging department CT, MRI, X-ray (fluoro and surgery), US, Echo, Dexa, Mammography, Nuclear Medicine14 bed Emergency Room21 bed MedSurg, 4 OR rooms, 2 endoscopy suites, and Family birth centerMany specialty areas General surgery, urology, podiatry, speech therapy, ortho, wound care, cardiac and pulmonary rehab, PT and OT, cardiology, dermatology, hematology, Cancer care servicesResponsible for general OP/IP, trauma, stroke, and x-ray proceduresGE Revolution 64 slice CT scannerKEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:1. Provides professional, empathetic, and compassionate care to team members, patients, families, and significant others. Greets patients and their families, assists patients with dressing/undressing, transports or ambulates patients, and assists patients with comfort needs.2. Demonstrates working knowledge of equipment and safety practices in the areas of CT department, interventional radiology, emergency department, inpatient, and outpatient services.3. Exhibits competency and skills needed to perform CT scans including interventional radiology and cardiology procedures per protocol, and sets appropriate technical parameters to accurately demonstrate anatomy and pathology.4. Completes department tasks such as stocking supplies, checking outdated supplies, performing safety audits or tracking, and cleaning rooms and equipment to remain compliant with requirements, regulations, and policies.5. Provides practical instruction for students and other health care professionals.6. Shows competency in intravenous access and administration of contrast in accordance with established protocols while using aseptic technique.7. Completes documentation on time and accurately in accordance with department policy/procedure. This includes proper image management and accurate documentation in electronic medical record.8. Applies critical thinking skills and ensures order accuracy when triaging and prioritizing patients. Practices safety at all times, which includes adhering to ALARA (as low as reasonably achievable) principles for proper radiation safety for self and patients, using mobilization and immobilization devices, following safe patient handling practices, following infection prevention practices (proper personal protective equipment), and following hand hygiene to comply with all government agencies or other regulatory bodies.QUALIFICATIONS:High School diploma or GED preferred.
