The Production Scheduler works with the Sales, Supply Chain and Operations departments, provides guidance and develops a predictable production schedule for Operations to successfully execute, while meeting customer satisfaction through our On Time to Commit metric.


  • Convert customer orders into an achievable production schedule based on customer demand, available materials and capacity reviews.
  • Understand and monitor raw material and finish goods to facilitate an efficient and accurate schedule.
  • Inform team of any capacity or material related constraints.
  • Provide updates on production performance and WIP levels for On Time to Commit accuracy, and expedite as needed.
  • Work with Operations to maintain accurate planned labor hours per piece.
  • Optimize schedule to achieve a minimum of 85% manufacturing efficiency.
  • Understand and monitor forecast
  • Monitor and/or open and close jobs through appropriate systems.
  • Monitor negative on hand balances of assemblies and finished goods items.
  • Provide guidance to Sales, Supply Chain and Operations for continuous improvement opportunities.
  • Ability to schedule and work with other Village Companies as a Customer or Supplier.

    Education and Training:

    • Minimum two-year manufacturing-related degree or 5+ years of relevant work experience.
    • At least three years of production planning experience in a lean environment.
    • Syteline/JobBOSS/Epicor experience a plus.

      Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

      • Computer skills (MS Office)
      • Flexible and can quickly change from job to job when needed.
      • Self-directing and motivated.
      • Ability to successfully handle and prioritize multiple tasks daily.
      • Requirement to create and understand reports and metrics to make production decisions.
      • A desire to promote the success of the organization and production staff.
