The company embraces its Wisconsin roots and is committed to providing support to the local communities it serves.Job Title: SuperintendentClassification: Salaried/Exempt - Full TimeReports To: Director of ConstructionOBJECTIVE: An experienced, deadline driven construction superintendent who oversees commercial and residential construction projects, leads and manages the on-site construction team, safety, quality and ensures projects are delivered successfully and on time.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Provide leadership, establish, and maintain effective and productive working relationships of the on-site staff and subcontractors; and promote positive morale
  • Direct the work loads of supporting staff to include training, mentoring and follow-up
  • Conflict management
  • Adhere to a strict project schedule working with the project manager
  • Coordinate materials and equipment delivery with vendors and suppliers
  • Maintain and manage quality of work completed
  • Enforce and hold OSHA safety policies and meetings
  • Enforce jobsite cleanliness
  • Complete the correct paperwork necessary to keep accurate records (inventory, daily logs, safety log, DNR reports, etc.)
  • Communicate regular project progress to Project Managers
  • Participate in monthly Construction Department meetings
  • Manage a punch list and project closeout to assure timely completion
  • Provide timely and cordial interaction with supportive work groups such as Accounting, Maintenance, HR, etc.
  • Other duties as assignedRequirements: EDUCATION & EXPERIENCERequired:
    • High school graduate or GED equivalent is required
    • Must have valid driver's license with reliable transportation to and from the job site
    • Must have 5+ years of experience in a construction leadership role
    • OSHA 30 certification or the ability to obtain one in 90 days
    • Full understanding of all building codes and resources to ensure all codes are met
    • Good planning skills, including design execution, resource allocation and contingencies
    • Understanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and signs of maintenance issues
    • In-depth understanding of local, state, and federal construction regulations
    • Excellent understanding of plans and specifications
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft applications
    • Possess the ability to read and understand blueprints
    • Knowledge of all aspects of the construction process
    • Excellent problem-solving, organizational, time management, and decision-making skills
    • Ability to problem solve
    • Must be flexible and possess the ability to change priorities and direction based on the need of a projectPreferred:
      • Advanced degree in Construction Management
      • Telehandler and/or Aerial/Boom lift certification
      • CPR/First Aid certification
      • 3+ years of Construction Superintendent experiencePHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
        • Ability to lift and carry up to 80 pounds
        • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time
        • Frequent bending, kneeling, twisting/turning, crouching, crawling
        • Ability to climb, work on and carry a ladder
        • Comfortable working at various heightsWORK ENVIRONMENT: This position involves working in all climates as well as multi-story buildings on an active construction site. This role routinely is exposed to dust and noise associated with saws and power tools.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: This position requires regular in-state travel with the ability to work 45 - 55 hours per week Monday - Friday, with occasional hours outside of that range as business necessitates.
