Description:Under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor, assist with planning, supporting, managing, and documenting construction and development projects within the resort and infrastructure. Assist the Maintenance Supervisor with special projects for construction in the areas of design, procurement of materials and furnishings.Areas of Responsibility:Work with manager(s), architects, engineers, and building contractors to prepare, plan, and accomplish assigned projects as budgeted.Prepare cost, estimates, and plans for assigned projects.Prepare or help prepare and review project documents including, site plans, building plans, bid documents, apply for government agency permits, other files, contracts, budgets, etc.Evaluate bids, make recommendationsConduct inspections; prepare progress reports, and scheduling timelines of all assigned projects for Maintenance Manager and others.Set specifications and help procure needed supplies and materials.Coordinate interior design projects with Maintenance Manager and other departments. Order interior components, arrange for shipping, receiving and setup.Direct and continuous contact with co-workers, management, project staff and other departments.External Contacts: Ongoing contact with building and construction contractors, architects, other support vendors, government regulatory agencies, planners, and inspectors.Must have the ability to interact at any time with guests and other employees in a pleasant manner and maintain good working relationships with others and all departments at The Landmark Resort.Supervisory:Assist in supervising and coordinating planning and construction work for the Construction section as related to assigned projects and tasks.Work with resort managers and employees through the planning & construction processes.Attend planning meetings with architects, engineers, and governmental agencies to work on developing plans and attaining permits.Applicant must possess general knowledge of plumbing, electrical, structural construction methods as these trades relate to commercial construction.Requirements:Education & Experience Requirements:College degree in construction/project management, engineering, design, business administration or other related field of study a plus5 years of hands-on construction work and or project coordination support.1-2 years of progressively responsible supervision/management of construction projects preferred.Specific Requirements:Must be at least 21 years of age.Valid Driver License with clean driving record.Skills & Knowledge:Proven communication and negotiation skills. Good interpersonal skills with employees and work associates.Technical:Knowledge of the construction trades, reading blueprints and construction plans.Must possess proficient computer skills, with Microsoft Excel, Word, etc... Etc.Must be able to compose spreadsheets and handle biding and costing activities.Must have good knowledge of excavating methods & building materialsAdministrative: Proven planning and organizing skills. Solid math skills and basic accounting skills.Attention to detail and meeting deadlines. Work with contractors and construction personnel. Must possess a strong work ethic with a driving attitude. Travel: Within the resort, city, and county areas. Responsible for pickup and delivery of documents and supplies.Schedule: Shifts vary, may be early morning or late evening, weekends, holidays, depending on business levels.Physical: Work in office setting with computer and office equipment.
