• The Underwriting Analyst is integral in maintaining company profitability by:
  • Evaluating new and renewal business (small to medium sized accounts and products) by gathering relevant data and putting together financial models.
  • Recommending financial terms by reviewing and analyzing account information
  • Considering any special or unique circumstances in reviews, while following guidelines in the Underwriting Manual
  • Communicating with Sales and other requestors as necessary by providing account information, proposals, loss information, and requesting additional underwriting information as needed before and during the review process
  • Preparing final proposals and recommendations for Underwriting actions and onboarding new accounts
  • Approving deals within underwriting authority or submitting final recommendations for approval if outside of individual authority levels
  • The Underwriting Analyst is responsible for maintaining good documentation, keeping files organized and available for review, and ensuring that all processes are followed, and all tasks are handled according to schedule
    • Documenting account information by entering updates into company systems and databases
    • Setting follow up dates
    • Updating appropriate logs
    • Entering and maintaining agency and compensation information into company systems
    • Researching and correcting compensation and/or policy entry problems
    • Setting product/agency spot check reminders
    • Fielding requests from internal departments on questions regarding accounts, products, and compensations
    • Performing contract reviews and setting follow up reminders to make sure we comply with all contract terms
    • Maintaining procedures documented in Underwriting ManualsWhat we are looking for
      • Demonstrated proficiency in analytics using Microsoft Excel formulas and functions
      • A decision maker comfortable in making decisions based on analytics
      • A good communicator able to build and maintain both internal and external relationships
